Meet the Team

Britney Helmers
Executive Director
Britney Helmers is a dedicated advocate for the idea that a thriving arts scene is the pulse of a strong economy. With a background in Interior Design and Historic Preservation from the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she also competed as a varsity athlete, Britney blends a curator's eye with a community-builder’s heart. Over the last several years, she has shaped the local landscape through her leadership at The Blocks Arts District, the Granary District Alliance, and the beloved pop-up project, Little City. Britney is deeply motivated by the "business of art," helping local creators transform their passions into sustainable entrepreneurship and using public art as a bridge to bring people together. For Britney, the arts are more than just a hobby; they are a true source of economic development and community pride. When she steps away from her community work, you’ll likely find her mountain biking through the Utah wilderness, traveling to find fresh inspiration, or simply enjoying the great outdoors.

Jody Engar
Programs Coordinator
A lifelong devotee of the arts, Jody Engar brings a unique blend of creative heritage and professional precision to her role. Born into a family of artists, Jody was raised under the mentorship of her father as a versatile master of multiple media best known for his bronze sculptures. She gained foundational experience managing vendor booths and navigating the business side of the arts from an early age. While she furthered her formal training with a minor in art during college, her professional journey led her into multi-unit retail management. This career path allowed her to sharpen high-level skills in project management, hiring and administration, which now serve as the backbone of her work in South Salt Lake. Today, Jody seamlessly bridges the gap between the studio and the office, utilizing her lived arts experience and executive expertise to foster a thriving, organized, and vibrant local arts community.
